Heavenly Roots resides on Salt Spring Island. We lease four acres at the Burgoyne Valley Community Farm from the Farmlands Trust. We grow fresh fruits and vegetables for two markets weekly, and provide select crops wholesale to stores, restaurants and caterers. We love tasty, local food and feel so lucky to share it.

We started our farm adventure in 2014 with a two acre patch of grass. Since then, we’ve fenced and irrigated our plot, expanded into four acres, and grown thousands of pounds of vegetables over five seasons.

We are pursuing a production method that makes ecology and sustainability a priority. We grow without synthetic pesticides or herbicides, and we enrich our soil with compost, manure, mulch and cover cropping. Our main farm-site is off-grid and features a large gravity-fed irrigation system. This is low tech, hand powered farming!

Entering our sixth year of production, our mission is to provide a wide selection of exceptional produce while making a positive impact in our community. We are grateful to all of our past, present and future customers who value the connection that local food brings. Thank you for enabling us to do what we believe in!
