Cherry Tomatoes

Preparation

Sweet, tangy and juicy, cherry tomatoes are the star of a chunky, greek-style salad or sliced and baked on pizza. They are best enjoyed fresh from the box as a snack, but they can be enjoyed anywhere you would use a sweet tomato - sliced fresh on pasta, topping a salad, roasted in the oven with garlic or as an ingredient in a sauce. Cherry tomatoes play well with summer squash, cucumber, basil and salty cheeses

Storage

Tomatoes should be kept at room temperature, out of direct sunlight. Refrigerating them will affect the flavour and texture. Use fresh tomatoes within 5 days. Tomatoes can be frozen in a container or ziplock bag if you want to cook with them in the winter. They can also be canned successfully using a multitude of recipes to make relish, catsup, tomato sauces, jams or chutneys.
